DICHOTOMY: ACTION [A Poem by Damon Paul Winters]

Our ideas are only as strong as our actions.

DICHOTOMY: ACTION by Damon Paul Winters

Action is a curious thing

if you begin before you’ve thought

you’ll surely wish that you had not

for Action doesn’t wait to listen

to your every anxious care

it’s up and moving outta there

because it doesn’t need to hear

your precaution or your fear

Action needs to walk about

traveling up and down a road

advancing forward turning back

to make sure there is no slack

like a beat without a pause

going is its only cause

never slowing ever steady

always there whether you’re ready

pushing you without regret

onward is Action’s demand

so directors say it often

making sure it’s not forgotten

if that ever was the case

because Action’s in your face

ever pressing ever constant

ever running never dormant

and when finally you rest

Action screams, “WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!?”

    • Thank you, Merrill! The time that I have to write and reflect these days is very limited, but I am hoping to carve away a bit more in the near future. Thanks for the kind words. πŸ™‚
